THE PROPERTY:
Between two legendary Gironde destinations – Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion – lies Montussan. This peaceful, verdant town is home to Château la Moune, which invites guests to enjoy their stay amidst the legacy of three centuries of history. THE OWNERS:
La Moune enjous the spirit of a luxury guesthouse with the amenities of a private home. The discreet owners work ceaselessly to create this relaxed atmosphere. DINING & ACTIVITIES:
Each day brings fresh discoveries. Guests awaken to a breakfast of homemade pancakes, egg custard, cereals, regional cheeses and local charcuterie. A range of activities is proposed; from a day of golf at the Bordeaux-Cameyrac golf club, horse riding through the vineyards, or visits to the wine chais of St Emilion’s ‘grands crus classés’. Within the property everything is arranged to encourage escapism and well being. As the sun beats down on the garden and its ancient cedar of Lebanon, lucky guests plunge into the pool’s clear water. Near by, the athletically inclined can work out in the fitness room, while the Spa shares its relaxation secrets during a treatment. Château la Moune is also an ideal location for a marriage celebration, seminar and other special event.

Land of Romanesque art, the Gironde has numerous classified monuments along the pilgrimage route of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Among the not to be missed sites are the Dune of Pilat, l’Île aux Oiseaux (the Island of Birds) and a wealth of discoveries you’re sure to come upon while touring.
