There’s a saying in southern Brenne: “When the river sings, there are trout about”. Following the Anglin valley, guided by babbling water and wriggling trout, you come upon a lovely chateau. Immersed in the hilly landscape, the little hamlet of "Maison d'Artistes", rests proudly on a wooded slope of Ingrande. Follow the riding path to the Manor, guesthouse and outbuildings, which welcome guests for a visit as relaxing as the cadence of the river.

THE OWNER:
The soothing Anglin River transmits its gentle aura throughout the hamlet; while the ambiance pervading the guesthouse and its outbuildings mirrors the generous, hospitable nature of the owner. The genial hostess is delighted to open her property each season to visitors in search of authenticity, relaxation and tranquility. Chance encounters coax melodious sounds from the ‘Pleyel’ piano in the salon, where musicians find inspiration. The spirit of the river and harmonious setting cast a spell over your visit like muses.

DINING AND ACTIVITIES:
The music of the gurgling river and gentle heat of the sun awaken guests with their natural rhythm. At the Manor, breakfast is as authentic and wholesome as the setting. An assortment of fresh multigrain and seeded rolls is served with local honey, home made jam, medlars, cherries and dried fruit. The Manor sources its charcuterie and fresh cow and sheep cheese from local producers who remain true to ancestral methods. In warm weather, laps in the sparkling swimming pool are perfumed with the fragrance of the garden’s lime trees and roses bushes. Whether experienced or uninitiated, fishing for trout, pike and perch a the bank of the Anglin just few yards from the hamlet, guarantees a peaceful interlude.

Surrounding Manoir, the center Region and Brenne nature reserve form a bucolic canvas composed of woods, meadows, hillcocks, ponds and châteaus. You can choose between rest and tranquility or more vigourous athletic activities...including rock climbing, kayak canoeing, paragliding, cycling and hiking. While out in the countryside, you're likely to come upon tortoises, butterflies, herons and wild orchids ; an excellent pretext for exploring this protected natural environment discretely on horseback.
