THE OWNERS:
Lionel and Laurence still recall many pleasant stays at mountain guesthouses throughout the years – a path that gradually led to their new life. Inspired by their travels, the Domaine du Manoir project came to be. It was then just a question of spreading the word, sharing their enthusiasm and surprising visitors. Mission accomplished for fortunate guests as soon as they cross the threshold - along with their happy hosts. “We’re delighted by the amazed expression of foreign guests, and the surprise of the town’s older generation who knew the place when it was a magnanerie.” They enjoy recounting the Manor’s past and ever evolving history to their guests. So remember to ask, because they are good storytellers.

DINING & ACTIVITIES:
To experience the aura that bathes the Manor in soothing vibes, you must first enter the gate and pass under plane trees leading up to the house. Tension evaporates as nature imposes its serenity and marvels to intoxicated guests. It’s time to enjoy the pool’s crystalline water, the sunny tennis court and lush garden. Your breakfast includes crusty paillasse bread, pastries, and home made jam, plus charcuterie and Savoyard cheese. This copious repast is a preview of the pleasures of a table d’hôtes dinner. Subject to reservation, the domaine du Manoir offers an escape for the senses with raclette, fondue, gratins and tartiflettes, along with Grisons meats and lake fish.

In Isère, every season has its unique charms and special attractions. In winter when the fields are covered in a white blanket of snow, and ski slopes enchant skiers… you can enjoy a hearty raclette with regional charcuterie, then warm up over a glass of Chartruese. With the arrival of spring, hiking and walks are enchanting. Aix-les-Bains rediscovers Lamartine's poetic lake, the Château de Chambéry is spruced up for visitors, and Grenoble resonates with concerts, while nature is adorned with endless flowers. In summer, the peaceful mountains and countryside offer a restorative stay for guests seeking a restful retreat. You’ll discover the Balme grottos, the mysteries of the Grande Chartreuse Monastery, the sanctuary of Hautecombe Abbey and the limpid lakes. All-terrain biking, climbing, sailing and paragliding let you fully experience the out of doors. When autumn comes to knock and the plane trees lose their leaves, the cool woods preserve the freshness of wild berries. In the land of walnuts, local delicacies take turns delighting visitors.
